Letters written by Peter Crowe mostly concerning his work in ethnomusicology. Letters are to a wide variety of international correspondents, and vary from formal professional letters to informal letters to friends. Some letters are written on a letterhead of the European Seminar in Ethnomusicology (ESEM), and others on a letterhead of Rutabaga (Bulletin of Counterblasts against Political Rectitude, Language Engineering, Jargon).
Arrangement: Each file contains a single letter, files have been named to reflect the date of the letter and its recipient

Processing information: These files have been retained in their native file formats. For the purposes of access, copies have been made that can be read in Microsoft Word for Mac. They can also be read in Microsoft Word 2000.
During the transfer of files from the original 3.5 inch floppy disks, some file name truncation occurred. Prior to being loaded into the permanent repository, the file names were amended to reflect the original file names provided by the donor.
Once permission is granted the digital object can only be viewed in Alexander Turnbull Library reading rooms
