Contains statements of submission of land etc to the mana of King Tawhiao by various hapu, with lists of names of hapu members (including some signatures), with boundaries of land
Also contains correspondence regarding land issues, surveying and road making between Kingitanga and Government representatives; copies of addresses by Tawhiao to the Kauhanganui (the parliament of the Kingitanga); notes about the Treaty of Waitangi and the 1852 Constitution Act including interpretations and opinions, and information of Government reaction to a Kingitanga petition to the British Government
There are also letters from Pakeeha settlers to Te Wahanui and Tawhiao seeking their protection
