Scrapbook compiled by Ernest Smith Baldwin, for the period 1880-1939, and mainly covering amateur dramatic theatre, productions and societies, both in Loughborough, England, and in Wellington, particularly those of the Wellington Repertory Theatre Inc and the National Repertory Theatre Society. Includes programmes, clippings, reviews and related material.
Includes a newspaper transcript of an 1885 letter from Henry Hughes giving detailed descriptions and impressions of New Zealand after his first few weeks in the colony.

Baldwin was one of the founding members of the National Repertory Theatre (later the Wellington Repertory Theatre Inc), and from 1936 was President of the Society. Previous to coming to Wellington, Baldwin had been involved in amateur theatre in Loughborough, England.
