Description

View of a train rounding Rocky Point on recently developed track after partial reclamation between Wellington and Petone. The old sea-wall is still partially visible. Photographed by A P Godber after 1908. See APG-0311-1/2 for an image taken in 1908, in which the road and railway line are very newly developed. This image was taken later, with fencing along the edge of the road alongside the reclaimed land, and dividing the road from the railway line. Two horse-drawn carts are visible in the distance, and a woman stands on the hill above, looking down on the view. Possibly Laura Godber.
