Original Evening Post caption reads: "Watched by their teacher, Mrs Teremoana Hodges, Brandon Intermediate pupils Dion Tipuna (left) and Chris Scott, both 13, take a break from conventional lessons and classrooms to try their hand at carving at Porirua's Maraeroa Marae. Dion and Chris were among 100 local children, who took part in a three-day residential arts and crafts course at the marae." Photographs taken 8th October 1980 by an Evening Post staff photographer.
