Description
View of Hamilton High School, noted as Waikato High School in photographer's title. Photographed by Price Photo Company, owned by William Archer Price. The school was opened in July 1911, and was originally to be name Waikato High School. Before the building was completed, it was decided the school would be name Hamilton High School, but too late for the correct name to be cast on the building. The erroneous name was cast in concrete, and not corrected for many years, as the name was hidden under ivy.
