Description

In the first of two frames a traffic policeman checks his breath testing machine and declares a man still 'under the limit'. The man speeds off and in the second frame his limit is described as 'One power pole, two pedestrians and three innocent motorists!' Refers to changes to the drink driving laws which are still considered too lenient by critics. The Government' decision to shelve plans to lower the drink-driving limit for adults and instead do more research has been attacked as a gutless act that will leave it with "blood on its hands". the limit at 0.08g of alcohol per 100ml of blood. The Government was considering lowering the adult limit to 0.05g, but Transport Minister Steven Joyce said he needed more public support and research into whether drivers with a level between 0.05g and 0.08g were involved in many crashes.
