Description

The top image, from an original made in 1796-98 by William Wilson, shows a graduated stone structure, wider at the bottom. Two small figures stand near the base.

The lower image, from an original drawn by an unknown artist shows an altar at Atahourou, in a cleared area in which stands a large high table on nine legs. In the foreground, inserted in the ground at crooked angles, are long wooden tablets, toothed at the tops.
