Autograph book owned by an unidentified New Zealand Guard at the Prisoner of War Camp, Featherston during World War Two. Volume contains signatures by New Zealand guards at the camp; signaturers accompanied by illustations from Japanese prisoners of war; and signatures from American soldiers based in Hawera (1943).
Language - Signatures and comments by prisoners are mainly in their own language

The Featerston Military Camp was established during World War One. At the request of the USA the camp was re-established as a Prisoner of War Camp for Japanese soldiers in September 1942. Approximately 800 Japanese soldiers were imprisoned there (captured during the the Battle of Guadalcanal).
