New Zealanders by a New Zealand Sherman tank, World War II, Italy, circa 21 August 1944. Shows F G Dixon (Lower Hutt), J A Brown (Akaura), and L A Trass (Palmerston North) of 18th New Zealand Armoured Regiment after they recaptured the tank during the advance towards Florence. The tank carries emblems of the NZ fernleaf and the German cross. Photograph taken by George Kaye.
