Shows a view of several houses in the pa at Ohinemutu, with wooden fencing made from slim branches. Two figures are seated on the ground in striped cloaks in the centre foreground. A tall pou stands erect in the enclosure at the right. In the background is Lake Rotorua.
This watercolour was painted by either William or and John Doubleday in 1885, while they were travelling around the world - on doctor's orders to cure lung infections.
