Original Evening Post caption reads: "Batik artist Anton Sudiharto whose work will be on show at the Wellington Settlement until June 21. Sudiharto, 29, was born in Central Java, Indonesia. He learnt the technique of batik there six years ago, later becoming a full-time artist in Bali where he established a gallery and studio. Early last year he came to live in New Zealand. Since then he has exhibited in Auckland and Wellington and had work shown in Academy of Fine Arts exhibitions." Photograph taken 11 June 1980 by Evening Post staff photographer Brett Richardson.
