From left to right: Tu Te Mahurangi Waitere (26 years) and grandfather Ngatokorua Hone Waitere (92 years), the waka carvers, then Ngatokorua's son Wiri Toko Waitere (57 years), Hone Joe Waitere (19 years) and sister Nettie Waitere (nee Phillips) (24 years). The baby boy is Joe Waitoa. Other - Note on back of file print reads: "Last canoe to be launched on Aotea Harbour, north of Kawhia. Another snap just after the launching Feb 24 1934.
