Collection relates primarily to the Communist International but also to the Red International of Labour Unions (Profintern), the Communist Youth International, the Lenin School for Party Cadre and the International Organisation for Aid to Fighters for Revolution (International Red Aid).
The majority of the documents are in English, though some are in German, the main working language of the Comintern, and of course Russian which was the language of the host society for these organisations
The Russian Centre for Preservation and Study of Historical Documents was previously known as the Institute of Marxism-Leninism and came under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union
