Rotokura / Cable Bay

A bay adjacent to Pepin Island between Ataata Point and Fall Cove approximately 16 km northeast of Nelson City. It was at this bay that the Eastern Extension Cable Company established the eastern terminal of the first telegraph cable between NZ and Australia, opened on 21 Febrary 1876.
