Wahi Pā

Pa site. Also known as Wahi Pa. On the west bank of the Waikato River, Raglan County, Waikato, to the north-east of Lake Waahi, 3 kms west of Huntly. In the early 1900s the pa was the headquarters of the third Maori king, Mahuta Tawhiao Potatau Te Wherowhero (1854/55?-1912).
