Rangiriri

At Rangiriri, the main highway passes over the old entrenchments of the defence works built on the ridge here between July and November 1863 by the Waikato supporters of the Maori "King Movement" in preparation for a confrontation with the British troops of General (Sir) Duncan Alexander Cameron.
