Lower part of Dixon Street, up to corner of Cuba, was named Taranaki Place, dates unavailable. The upper part of Dixon Street has a section consisting of steps (pedestrian only) leading as far as Percival Street where it becomes accessible by vehicular traffic again, up to the Terrace.
