Buchanan, Rachel Anne, 1968-

Journalist, historian, archivist, and author. Born in Whanganui. Daughter of Dr Leo Francis John Buchanan and Mary Felicity (nee English). Grew up in New Plymouth, Taranaki, and Masterton, Wairarapa.

Graduated with a journalist diploma in 1985 from Wellington Polytechnic. Travelled and then moved to Australia to live where she attained a PhD in History, Monash University, Melbourne. Author of The Parihaka Album: Lest We Forget (Huia, 2009) and Stop Press: The Last Days of Newspapers (Scribe, 2013) and Ko Taranaki te Maunga (2018).

Affilates to Taranaki, Te Ātiawa.
