Ngā Puna Waihanga (Organization)

Nga Puna Waihanga (Māori Artists and Writers Association) is a network of Māori artists, writers, poets, sculptors and other Māori creators. It began in Te Kaha in 1973 and claims to be the tuakana Māori arts organisation in New Zealand. It is governed by an executive council and regional representatives.

Their hui led to the development of Haumanu, a group of tradiitonal Māori music players and instrument makers, who were at the forefront of the taonga puoro revival.
