Benson-Pope, David Henry (Hon), 1950-

New Zealand Labour Party politician first elected in 1999. MP for Dunedin South and Labour Party Senior Whip. Minister responsible for the Education Review Office, for Fisheries, Associate Minister for Environment, for Education, for Justice. Former teacher and city councillor. He resigned from Cabinet in 2007 following Environment Ministry allegations of improper involvement in the sacking of newly-appointed Communications Manager.
