Looking east towards the Tararua range, with the river to the right and a small European-style house on a low rise to the left, close to the river
On the reverse is a futher drawing of a small house on a rise, possibly the same house, drawings of Maori carvings and of the head of a taiaha. Drawing C-103-001-1, on the same sized paper and originally mounted alongside C-103-001-2 refers also to Muhunoa, Ohau and is dated 1844
