Blake, Peter James (Sir), 1948-2001

Yachtsman. Captain of the victorious America's Cup challenge in 1995. Appointed to succeed Jacques Cousteau as the head of the Cousteau Society in 1997 (see "North and South", December 1997, pages 44-48). Murdered by pirates aboard his boat on the Amazon river, December 2001.
