Kapumanawawhiti, active 1700

A celebrated warrior chief of the Ngati Raukawa tribe, and younger sibling of Haetapunui, an equally famous tohunga. Kapu won eight successive victories in battle which earned him enormous fame. In celebration Hae named his own young son "Nga-toko-waru", the eight victories of Kapu.
