Medical practitioner. Born in Australia, educated in Dunedin. Attended medical school at the University of Otago. Married John Fortescue Wright Mills (d 1946). Dominion president of the Women's National Reserve during World War I, receiving the St John Ambulance medal. Also vice president of the YWCA and the Royal Life Saving Society. Mother of Dr Adah Hamilton Evelyn Platts-Mills. (See `Southern people; a dictionary of Otago Southland biography', 1998)
