Pikauterangi, active 1780

Pikauterangi was the senior male issue of the Ngati Toa chief Te Maunu, and paramount chief of the Ngati Toa tribe. Pikauterangi married two sisters Te Kahurangi and Nihoniho from which many of Ngati Toa's senior chiefs are descended, and together with their elder brother Wharerau, constitute the Ngati Kuri hapu of Ngati Toa.
