Ferguson & Hicks (Firm)

Lithographers, printers and stationers, of 111 Lambton Quay, Wellington. In 1901 Wises Directory an Alexander Ferguson, printer and stationer, was listed at this address. The book catalogue shows that the firm printed books between about 1900 and 1920. However, a notice in the Evening Post, 2 September 1912, states: "The partnership heretofore existing between Alexander Ferguson and Edwin Hicks, trading as Ferguson and Hicks Printers, stationers and booksellers, Lambton Quay, Wellington, has been dissolved by expiry as from the 31st, of August, 1912. Owing to ill-health, Mr. Hicks is retiring from the business, and the late firm takes the opportunity of thanking their customers for generous support accorded. The interest of the retiring partner has been purchased by Walter John Osborn, and the business will in future be conducted under the name of Ferguson and Osborn. The undersigned respectfully solicit for the new firm a continuing of the support accorded in the past. Wellington, 2nd September, 1912"
