Printing, publishing and bookselling firm. Merged with Coulls, Somerville & Wilkie to form Whitcoulls Ltd. Established by George Hawkes Whitcombe and George Tombs in 1882. In the 1940s, the company had stores in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, London, Sydney and Melbourne.
