Atkinson, Esmond Hurworth, 1888-1941

Artist and botanist of York Bay, Eastbourne, Wellington. Born Wellington, son of E Tudor Atkinson and Ann (née Richmond); husband of Alison (Burnett), grandson of Sir Harry Atkinson. Two sons, Nicholas and Tudor. Educated Wellington and Wanganui. After leaving school, joined the Biological Section of the Department of Agriculture. Studied botany.
