National MP for Wallace, 1990-1996. Promoted to Cabinet 1996. Minister of Finance January 1999 to June 1999 under Prime Minister Jenny Shipley. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance from 2008-2016 under John Key. Became 39th Prime Minister of New Zealand on 12 December 2016.
