Native interpreter, of Omahana. Son of Te Karere (father) and Hinewai Omahuru (mother) of the Nga Ruahine (Ngaruahine) Iwi. Became a captive of war in 1868 (captured at Te Ngutu o te Manu) and was ultimately adopted by Sir William Fox, New Zealand politician and Prime Minister.
