Huggan, Joseph Mitchell, 1897-1957

With his wife Lily Annie Huggan (née Brown; 1890-1983), they were textile workers, storekeepers, community leaders and local politicians. Born Lancashire, came to NZ in the 1920s. Mayor of Petone, 1950-1957. (NZ Biogs, v2 p 89). See also DNZB (Vol 5, 1941-1960, p242-243, H40)
