Warne, Leon, 1895-1984

Launch and boatbuilder of St Mary's Bay, Auckland. Known as a big game fisherman. Treasurer (1924) and then Secretary (1925) of the Bay of Islands Swordfish and Mako Shark Club. Involved with fishing and boating in the Bay of Islands, ca 1927. Skipper of the launch 'Marlin' with Bill Hodgson. Fished with Zane Grey. (Source: Weekly News, 28 Jun 1971, pp 3-4). Residing in Herne Bay, Auckland in 1975.
