Walker, William Campbell, 1837-1904

Walker, N C - fl 1860s-1880s

Runholder at Mount Possession Station, Ashburton. Member of Parliament for Ashburton 1884-1890, and on Legislative Council 1892-1904. Minister of Education 1896-1903. He also obtained title to the Lower Lake Heron station for the Walker brothers in ca 1865 for a short time (see L G D Acland's `Early Canterbury runs' (1951) p309).
