Evans, Malcolm Paul, 1945-

Cartoonist for various papers in New Zealand and the Express Star (UK) in 1966. New Zealand publications include Bay of Plenty Times, New Zealand Herald (1970-1978 and 1997-2003), Christchurch Press, Manawatu Standard, and Timaru Herald.

Has published a large number of books of Edna cartoons and three collections of editorial cartoons. The latter included several cartoons critical of Israel which ultimately saw him lose his role at the Herald.

Succeeded Sir Gordon Minhinnick at the Herald.

Other professional interests include working in advertising for the Bay of Plenty Times, book illustration, acrylic and oil painting, sculpture (bronze), and running an organic fertiliser company.

Twice awarded the Cartoonist of the Year.
