Kinder, John, 1819-1903

Anglican clergyman, teacher, artist and photographer. Arrived in Auckland in 1855. Headmaster of the Church of England Grammar School in Auckland, living in a stone house in Ayr Street, Parnell, attached to the school. From 1872 master at St John's College, Tamaki, until 1880, when he retired, from then on living in Arney Road, Remuera at `Woodcroft'. Married Marianne Celia (née Brown; d 1928).
