View of Kawhia, looking over towards the trees where the farmhouse built by George Charlton formerly stood. At far left is a side view of the Kawhia Congregational Church. Also on left, is the St Elmo boarding house, on a hilltop, silhouetted by distant hills, with verandah facing the camera. To the left of St Elmo, side on, is Rosamond House. The wide grassed area, with horses grazing later became Pouewe Street. Photograph taken by Jonathan Limited (Firm) between 1908-1915.
