Ayson, Judge, 1884-1948

Lawyer, judge, public administrator. Born at Clutha. Qualified as a lawyer in 1905, and after practising in Wellington was appointed Judge of the Native Land Court and High Court of the Cook Islands in Rarotonga in 1916. In 1922 became Resident Commissioner of the Cook Islands. Joined the Native Department in Wellington in 1937, but reappointed to the Cook Islands in 1938. Retired in 1943.
