Clergyman and missionary. Born England. Son of Charles Baker (1774-1851), nurseyman, and Elizabeth Riley (died 1845). Emigrated to New Zealand Jun 1827. Married Hannah Maria Bailey, 13 children. CMS missionary in Northland, East Cape and Bay of Plenty. Buried St Stephens Churchyard, Taurarua [Judge's Bay], Auckland.
