Contains papers relating to `Early music New Zealand' including correspondence, copy, financial records, lay-outs and cover mock-ups. Also included materials on the record music of John Rimmer, a speech by Les Dorizac and autobiographical notes by Roger Wilson. There is also correspondence between Adrienne Simpson and Brian Pritchard, relating to the book `The greatest ornaments of their profession' and an annotated copy of a draft of this book (1989-1994). Also contains copies of background reference materials used for this book and a scrapbook of clippings of reviews and articles about performances of opera in New Zealand and Australia (1907-1911). Also includes papers relating to Simpson's involvement on the Artistic panel of the Wellington City Opera (1990-1993). There are also interviews conducted by Adrienne Simpson and others (1988-1993) and a cassette of the 1989 Mobil Song Quest finalists. Also includes her research papers, chiefly concerning Alice May, Dan O'Connor, Simonsen Opera, Frances Saville, and general New Zealand opera and theatrical history
Also includes notes towards a biography of New Zealand soprano Frances Alda. The notes have subsequently been transcribed by New Zealand School of Music Secretarial Services.
