Photograph of four Maori men, and a child, grouped in front of carvings on the porch of Te Whai-a-te-Motu (`the pursuit through the island'), the wharenui (meeting house) built by Ngai Tuhoe people at Ruatahuna, near Mataatua. Photograph taken circa 1903 by an unidentified photographer for the New Zealand Government Tourist Department.
