Nepia, George, 1905-1986

Ngati Rakaipaaka of Nuaka and Mahia. Birth date registered as 1905, but he later claimed he was born in 1908. Popular singer and recording artist. Maori All-Black. Born Wairoa, educated Te Aute College, fullback for the All-Blacks aged 19 in 1924, captained All-Blacks 1930. See Ledyden, Michael.
