Allom, Thomas, 1804-1872

English architect, landscape artist and engraver. A pupil of architect Francis Goodwin. Published books of views from his travels in various parts of England and Scotland, France, Constantinople and Turkey. He was one of the founders of the Institute of British Architects. (See Benezit's Dictionnaire des peintres...). Made the lithographic plates for several works by Charles Heaphy published in London in 1840 and in 1842 and for E. J. Wakefield's Illustrations to "Adventure in New Zealand" (1845).
