Douglas, Roger Owen (Hon Sir), 1937-

Labour politician and cabinet minister. Member of Parliament for Manukau 1969-1978 and Manurewa 1978-1990. Minister of Broadcasting and Housing, and Post-Master General 1972-1975; Minister of Finance 1984-1988. The economic policy he introduced was popularly referred to as 'Rogernomics' (with a derogatory slant). In 1990 he set up his own consultancy company and was a member of the board of Brierley Investments, 1990-1999 and serves as its chairman in 1998. He returned to Parliament as an ACT backbencher in 2008 before retiring in 2011.
