Lange, David, 1942-2005

Prime Minister of New Zealand, 1984-1989. Labour MP for Mangere 1977-1996. Deputy Leader of Labour Party in 1979, Leader from 1983. Became New Zealand's youngest Prime Minister after the July elections of 1984. Attorney-General 1990. Retired from Parliament in 1996. Personal papers held at Archives New Zealand. Died Auckland 13 August 2005
