La Trobe, William Sanderson, 1870-1943
Engineer. Became the second director of the Wellington Technical School in 1904. He expaned the school's role so that it opened as the Wellington Technical College in February 1905. He left the school in 1919 to become the first superintendent of technical education, a post he held until his retirement in 1938.
