Marshall, Patrick (Dr), 1869-1950

Teacher, geologist, university professor. Attended Wanganui Collegiate School 1883-1888. Studied geology at Canterbury and Otago University Colleges. Professor of Geology at Otago 1900-1916. Headmaster of Wanganui Collegiate School 1917-1922. President, Royal Society of NZ, 1925-1927. Published widely in geology. Resident at Ludlam Crescent, Lower Hutt, by the 1940s. See DNZB (Vol 3, 1901-1920, p333-334, M44). The Library purchased at least five watercolours and an oil by G H Page from his estate, ca 1950
