Nightingale, Florence, 1820-1910

Noted reformer of the nursing profession. Superintendent of Female Nurses in Hospitals in the East, based at Scutari, Crimea 1854-1856. The Nightingale Fund was set up in 1855 and financed the establishment of the Nightingale School for Nurses at St Thomas' Hospital in 1860.
