Daughter of James Richard Lysaght (1819-1899) and Frances Charlotte (née Gardiner). Arrived in Canterbury in 1874 with her parents and siblings on the Crusader. Resided at Mokoia, Taranaki, as a young woman. An artist who drew in pencils and watercolours. Lived at Moreroa, Chatham Islands, 1885?-1891, with her husband, farmer Francis Edward Moore (1853-1908) whom she married at St Mary's Church, Hawera, on 26 November 1884. Mother of John Lysaght Moore, artist; and sister of Mary Grace Caroline Lysaght, artist. According to the New Zealand register of deaths, 'Sophia Augusta Moore' died in 1945, aged 83 years, making her date of birth ca 1862. She was known by the family as Sophie
