Williams, Edward Marsh, 1818-1909

E M W (Artist), 1818-1909

Eldest son of Henry Williams and Marianne Coldham. He arrived in Bay of Islands 1823 and helped translate the Treaty of Waitangi. From 1880-1891 he was judge of the Native Land Court. Married Jane Davis, daughter of Rev Richard Davis, in 1843.
